Planning Your First Visit

If you’re thinking about visiting St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, we’d love to welcome you. Whether you’ve been part of a church your whole life or you’re simply curious and exploring, you’ll find a relaxed and friendly community here.

What to Expect

Our worship services are warm, thoughtful, and welcoming to all. You’ll hear scripture, music, prayer, and a message that connects faith with everyday life. Some people come dressed casually, others a little more formally—whatever helps you feel comfortable is perfectly fine here.

Bring the Whole Family

People of all ages are part of our community. Children are always welcome in worship, and we love seeing families worship together.

Come As You Are

You don’t need to have all the answers or know exactly what you believe. Church is a place where questions are welcome and faith grows over time. Whether you’re new to the area, new to church, or simply looking for a spiritual home, we’re glad you found us.

We hope you’ll join us this Sunday.

Services: What to Expect?

Wake Up & Worship!

8:30AM SUNDAY

...at 8:30 a.m. Sunday: Our early service is a casual gathering held in our new Community Life Center. Get a cup of coffee and drink it during the service. There is praise and worship music led by our worship leader, Brennan Simmons, who mixes contemporary songs with hymns and gospel. The service is relaxed, and there is not a formal format to follow.

Traditional Service

11:00AM SUNDAY

...at 11 a.m. Sunday: St. Paul‘s traditional service is traditional only in format. Being at the beach, you’ll find many of us still in shorts and flip flops. The service will have a choir, responsive readings, scripture readings, hymns to sing, and plenty of smiling faces. The lesson is sometimes the same as early service, sometimes a little different.

Church @ the Boardwalk!

8:00 AM SUNDAY

Church at the Boardwalk on Sundays at 8 a.m. during the season. We gather at the covered shelter near the Marriott for a 30-minute service that includes scripture and a short sermon, singing led by the One Love Ukulele Band, prayers, and Holy Communion. An offering is taken to benefit the Federal Point Help Center.

FAQ

What should I wear?

Will I have to introduce myself?

How will I know when to sit or stand?

What time does the service start?

Am I welcome at this church?

We say it often because we mean it... we don’t care! We live at the beach, work at the beach and worship at the beach. Our Sunday attire includes shorts, flip-flops and probably a few fishing shirts. There may be a few dresses or suits scattered about. We are more concerned about your relationship with God than your relationship with clothing.

Nope! We are not going to call attention to you. We do take time to greet each other and sometimes this means people walk around. Don’t feel you must – we won’t mind a bit.

When you arrive the usher will give you a bulletin. This will have the information for the order of service.

The main doors to the sanctuary are located under the steeple. These doors bring you into the back of the main worship area. The door to the left of the main doors bring you into the main hallway, which leads to the stairwell (to upstairs classrooms and nursery), kitchen, offices, and fellowship hall. By the way, there is usually coffee in the kitchen….help yourself (and if you’re lucky there could be a Britt’s Donut).

Yes! We believe Jesus called us to ‘love our neighbor as ourselves” and that means you! We don’t care if you’re red, yellow, black, white or rainbow striped. We won’t care about your income, your race, or your status. If you want to worship with us, you are welcome.
